Abortion affects our body, mind and spirit; therefore, the healing from the aftermath also includes all three areas. Physicians, psychologists and counselors can be consulted for the healing of the body and mind. The spiritual wounds often are left to the individual to work out in the quiet recesses of their heart. More often than not all three areas are left wounded, causing long term suffering throughout one's adult life.
God wants more for us than to limp along through life. He provides for us when we fall into the traps of the evil we encounter in this world.
Jesus tells us to ask, search, knock and assures us we will receive, find, and the door will be opened (Luke 11:9-11). He does not abandon us because of any fault we may commit. He is a God of unconditional love and mercy.
On the other hand, in our human nature, we find it difficult to love and forgive ourselves when we are incredulous at how we've acted. We condemn ourselves and believe we deserve to suffer all the consequences "for justice sake." This condemnation often begets more woundedness to the person. We now have a snowball effect of one evil leading to another and yet another. Without healing we can truly become a "lost soul."
R.S.V.P. the invitation of Jesus to ask, search and knock. You will find peace and renewed life.
